Originally by: Swidgen These wouldn't be so bad if they were truly optional. That way you could say "no" and wait to hear from the customers guinea pigs to decide if it's worth it or not.
Instead, if you decline an optional patch it REMOVES the previous one from your computer! That is just ******ed design, sorry.
If CCP truly has zero internal testing and QA this patch will be another fiasco. Here's hoping they finally get their act together, because most of what they're fixing now will have to be re-patched when Incursion is released next month.
Judging by their current performance, going ahead with the releasing of Incursion next month will mean we all have a hell of a buggy/unhappy Crimbo present from them.

because you declined to d/l it, it deleted any previous update that you had installed.
Should be under ESC / general settings.

Originally by: Rocky Deadshot i tried this morning about an hour after dt to dl the patch on a windows 7 pc... it was downloading extremely slow and basically stopped at .5%. later i tried downloading on my net book i use to update skills... same issue (although different op (xp this time)) and also on a different connection.
if i click no will anything adverse happen for not dling the "optional patch"
any help would be nice, i didnt realize ccp was patching today so i didnt get a 14day skill in before DT, and i only have a couple hrs till my que is empty
If you click "No" the previous optional patches will be uninstalled, assuming your client worked prior to all these optional patches you should be able to play the game with your client in that state, if the patches at any point fixed a game breaking issue you SHOULD NOT opt out of the newest patch, as this will leave your client broken again.
If he says no and enters the game he can d/l the patch from esc / general settings.

Originally by: mantis prime man you guys are a bunch of whiny babies, the patches are being developed rapidly you should be excited! More features means better game play, I personally love the align to bookmark option which you dimwits would have to wait until incursion to appreciate with the old system.
Python has made CCP development faster and therefore you get updates frequently to address all issues and make a better game.
More rapidly?? If they had tested this **** on the TEST server and sorted it out on there, we wouldnt need to be using all these 'rapid' patches.
Im paying to play a game, not be a frigging bug tester. If i wanted to do that Id go mess around on the test server where this **** should have been sorted out BEFORE deploying on TQ. There are numerous posts where its evident that some of these bugs WERE pointed out on SiSi and yet they still went ahead with the update. Can you imagine what will happen on the 16th when the new expansion hits? Current indication is that wether it works or not, it WILL get deployed.........guess i better figure out soon what to use my free skill points on.
